- CHRISTCHURCH, March 20. TJntries were larger in all sheep sections at the Addington market today, and smaller in the cattle- section.
Store sheep: Good store lambs, of which there was a moderatcentry, sold at previous week's r values, but backward sorts were hard to sell. Best -made 7s to Ss 3d; medium, 5s to 6s 9d. Good young ewes met w-ith a. steady sale at recent values, but older sorts were almost impossible to quit. Extra .good, four-tooth Romney ewes made to 16s; good two-tooth Romney cross, 12s to 13s Od; good s.m. Romney cioss^Bs 9d-to 7s 9d; good two-tooth halfbred, to 14s; medium two-tooth halfbred, 10s to 12s 9d;-small two-tooth halfbred, Ss 3d to 9s 3d; medium four and six-tooth halfbred, tolls 9d; inferior four' and sixtooth halfbred, 6s to 8s 6d; ordinary six and eight-tooth balfbred, Ss 3d to Ss 9d; sood s.m. halfbred, to Ss 6d; medium s.m. halfbred, 6s to 7s; failing mouth, 4s to 5s 9d; young halfbred wethers, 4s to 8s lOd. Fat lambs: Three thousand fi\e hundred were penned, and met a good demand, with values unaltered. Best sold to ISs 7d;.pume heavy, 14s to lot.; medium weight, lls 6d.to 13i 6d; light, 9s 6d to Us;.
Fat sheep: A very heavy entry of 7000 head, including a big Chatham Islands consignment. Butchers' ewes were inclined'to be better in price, but wethers were slightly cheaper. Exporters operated freely, dune heavy wethers made 14s 6d t0,105.7d; Tiriine medium:weight, 12s to 14s; ordinary,':los 3d' to lls 6d; light, Ss 6d to :JOs. Extra prime heavy ewes, to lls Id;, prime heavy, 9s to 10s; niediumTveight prime, Cs 9d to 8s 6d; ordinary, Od to 6s 6d; light, 3s 6d to 43 Cd. Fat -cattle: Three hundred and beventyfive penned. Prime cattle were limited. The sale was erratic, but bett cattle showed a rise of 20s a head. Good beef made ISs to 20s; medium, 15s to 17s; secondary cow,, lls 6d to. 13s; and rough, down to 9a. Extra prime heavy steeis made to £9 2s> 6d; prime heavy, £7 to £B'l2s 6d; medium weight, prime, £6 to £7'aos; ordinary, £4 to £5 10s; inferior, £2 to £3 17s 6d; extra prime heifers, to £6 17s 6d; prime, £4 10s to £5 17s 6d; ordinary, £3 2s 6d to £4 7s 6d; light, £2 5s to £3; extra prime cows,,to £6 7s Cd; pume, £4 to £5 15s; light and ordinary, £1 10s to £3 7s 6d.
