SUBURBAN HORTICULTURE

The monthly meeting of the Wellington South Horticultural Society, which includes the Island Bay and Newtown districts, was held recently. Arrangements were made for the autumn show to be held on April 26. Mrs. Knox Gilmer, president of the Wellington Horticultural Society, consented to open the show in the afternoon. Judges for the different sections were selected, subject to their acceptance. Mr. R. A. Nicol resigned his honorary position as judge for the home garden competition owing to unforeseen circumstances. Mr. and Mis. McGregor undertook to complete the inspection. ° A special vote of appreciation was passed to Mr. Nicol for the many years of support lie had given to the various shows by donating special prizes.
