COMMONWEALTH LAND PARTY

The usual public meeting of the Commonwealth Land Party was held in the Dominion Farmers' Institute last night, when Mr. S. G. Stephenson addressed a large attendance. The speaker dealt with the origin and scope o£ the"party's policy, showing that the ideals were derived from the fundamental principles of truth and justice, and that the present conditions were due in the last analysis to one cause only—the present system of land tenure. The speaker then briefly traversed the practical application of the policy to our present system, and showed that with a minimum of dislocation the root problem of unemployment would be overcome, with the consequential effect of restoring prosperity. At the conclusion of the address numerous questions were answered concerning the effect of the policy generally, and its application in particular.
