POISONING CHARGES

TRIAL OF NURSE KERR

AUCKLAND, March.2B.

The retrial of Nurse- Elspeth Kerr, aged 45, on three charges of administering poison was continued in the Supreme Court.

The charges against Nurse Kerr are that on April 8 and 10, 1932, at Devonport, and on April 16, 1932, at Auckland, she administered poison, veronal to her eight-year-old foster daughter' Dorothy Betty Cameron, with intent to injure her and so as to cause her life to be endangered. Considerable progress has been made, 21 witnesses out of about 40 having been heard. It is expected that the trial will be concluded this week.
