HEAVY SEAS
RAROTONGAN STORM
MAIL LINERS DELAYED
Because of heavy seas, the work of handling cargo by lighter at Rarotonga has been, delayed, and this means that the Union Company liners Makura and Maunganui have been held back.
The Makura, en route from San Francisco, should have left Rarotonga yesterday, but she.will not now get away until this evening. However, she is expected to arrive at Wellington on Monday, and the time pf arrival depends on what time she leaves Earotonga this" evening. The- San Francisco mail liners arrive at Wellington as a rule early on Monday morning. The Makura is bringing an important con-' signment of English " and' American mail to Wellington. The Maunganui was held up for two days_ by a dispute with stewards at Wellington, and in consequence her arrival time at San Francisco was fixed at April 9, instead of April 7. It was not known this afternoon when the Maunganui would leave Rarbtonga, so it appears as if her arrival time at San Francisco will be further delayed. She carries an important mail for America and England. '
