"A STAMPEDE"

ACTION Cffi IMPORTERS

"MR. BRASH'S STATEMENT

When interviewed today in refer-ence-to the London cablegram, Mr. T. C. Brash, secretary of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board, made the following statement:—

It is quite evident-that an attempt is being made on the part of the importers of Great Britain to stampede the producers pf the Dominion and the Commonwealth in: > connection with restrictions. When it is considered' that the proposed basis for the restriction will not affect the quantities arriving in Gjeat Britain to any extent until the end of 1933, it geems altogether beyond our comprehension that the present prices on the market should be' so influenced'by a decision of the producers.
