(Received March 29,; 10 a.m.) . LONDON, March 28.

A joint meeting of Australian and New Zealand butter importers discussed the crisis with regard to future prospects, and resolved that: "Uncjer existing conditions this meeting is of opinion that an improvement in-the prices of jdairy produce cannot be expected until imports are reduced." V

The discussion . revealed a very definite opinion" among traders that restrictions or limitations are inevitable. If the industry is to be saved from ruin, the promptest action in Australia and New Zealand is necessary. Importers feel that the producers cannot have . realised that limitation would not cause them serious hardship, as it would be based on the 1932-33 record season... Limitation would prevent foreign dumping.

It is understood that the British Government fully sympathises with the Dominion producers, hut its hands are tied by existing agreements, rendering it impossible for it to make any better, proposals to the Dominions that it has done.

The whole question is now in the Dominion producers' hands, and importers are awaiting the outcome with extreme anxiety.

Meanwhile, the delay is practically x paralysing the business. Today's price was: New Zealand salted, 68s to 70s 'a cwt; Australian, 66s tp 68s.
