DUXEDIX, March 28.

At recent northern wool sales the market has .=hown a hardening tendency, and at today's eale there wag a keener and wider demand than at the previous sale in February. At that sale competition ',rom the Continent was restricted, but today buyers operated very keenly on all fine crossbreds, halfbrdds, and bellies and pieces. There was good support from Bradford on crossbreds, and local mills were keen buyers of the few lots of suitable halfbreds which were on offer.

Generally the market may be quoted ns firm on recent northern sales, and compared with the previous Dunedin sile low and inferior wools were unchanged, good crossbreds M<l higher, and halfbreds Md to Id higher.

Growers generally met the market, and parsings "were infrequent.

The official range of prices is' a3 follows:— .

-Merino, G4/70. GO/G4.—Average, ~\ii to S?4d; inferior, G?id to "Vid.

Fine Halfbrcd, oS, yfi/.iS, 50.—Super. 10% dto lHiil; average, O&d to lOVad; inferior, IVid to.S%rJ.

Medium Halfbred, 50/SG. 50.—Super lOlid to UV-d; average, 9d to lOd; iuferior, 7 Mil to S l/ 2 d.

Extra Fine Crossbred, 48/S0. —Super, 9d to 9%d; average, VAd to S%d; inferior, ud to 6<i.

Fine Crossbred. 4G/4S.—Super, GV'd to 7%d; average, s\id to G',4d; inferior, 4d to sd.

Hedium Crossbred, 44/40— 5%d to GMd: average, 4 J/i<l to 3d; inferior, 3d to 3%il'

Coarse Crossbred, 40/44. —Super, 4d to 4Vl>d; averase, 3',id to 3%d; inferior, 2V<d to 3d.

Bellies and Pieces.—Halfbrcd: Good to super, SV&d to KHi-d: low to medium.. 6d to Bd. Crossbred: Good to super, 6d to Sd: low to medium, 3V4d to oVid.

Crutchinfrs. —Medium to good, 2&d to 3%d; inferior and seedy, Id to 2<l.

Locks.—Halfbred, 2%d to 3?id; crossbred, l'/id (o 2%d.
