BAIL REFUSED
MOSCOW, March 27. The Soviet Public Prosecutor (M. Vishmsky) after three hours' questioning of Mr. Alan Monkhousc, refused to extern! bail td nine of the Metropoli-tan-Vickers Electrical Company's employees still in prison. It is understood that the Prosecutor refused to "accept delivery" of the company's demand £ov bail tor all its employees who are under arrest, on the ground that it "asserted the prisoners' innocence and denied the validity of trial by a Soviet Court." The newspaper "Isvestia" says there is no reason why the trial of a few engineers should affect Anglo-Soviet trade relations. "There is goodwill on the Soviet sicie," it adds The London "Daily Telegraph's" diplomatic correspondent understands that the Soviet intends to stage the trial of the Vickers employees early in April. The charges have still not been communicated to the British Ambassador.
