PAREMATA EVENTS
Races were held for all classes at Paremata during the week-end, there being a fresh nor'-west wind and bright sunshine. Results, with handicaps and actual sailing times, are given below:— First-class Centreboard Handicap.—Miss Josephine (lmin), lh 22m 595, 1; Peggy\ (scr), lh 22m 525, 2; Putorino (2%min), lh 29m 50s, 3. Also started: Kewpie (5% min), Kuini (3min), Lois (2min)," Kotuku II (2%min). The Lois fouled the Putorino shortly after the start and retired with a badly-ripped jib. The Kotuku II broke her tiller when gybing round the Morehousa ibuoy.
Takapuna Class Handicap.—Noleen (scr), lh llm 555, 1; Wairoa (3%min), lh 16m lls, 2; Windsong (lOmin), lh 25m 255, 3. Also started: Silver Dawn (Bmin), Nustar (4%min). Second-class . Handicap.—The lanthe (2 min), Tui (scr), and Oreroa (scr) started in the second-class handicap, but this race was abandoned when the Oreroa capsized when running down to Brown's. This left the Tui and the lanthe to contest the resailed race, which resulted in an easy victory for the lanthe.
