GALA DAY AT OTAKI
"In a gala day at Otaki at the weekend some sixty players, representative of city and Manawatu clubs, took part. All ■were accorded a welcome by the president (Mr. H. Nicolson), who, at the conclusion c£ the play, handed to Visitors supplies of Otaki-grown fruit and' - vegetables. Petone Central were congratulated on their win, and complimentary reference was made to the runners-up-— Foxton. Mr. Webster, an Otaki bowler, was bid farewell by the president, who wished him success while racing in Sydney: Mr. Webster had made eight trips, and with First Acre alone had recorded fifteen wins in Australia. He was now endeavouring to • win ' the Sydney Cup. Cheers followed. I . ■ .
