ALL PRODUCERS
FARMERS AND MANU-
FACTURERS
The general secretary of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation states that manufacturers have always been most anxious to work in harmony with the farmers. The federation had never issued any criticism or any statement with reference to the farm industries except when forced to do so in answer to some attack upon manufacturers. It was to bo deplored that several of the farmers' leaders had recently made public statements which were bound to antagonise the urban industries and to provoke counter-attacks to the detriment of the farmers. However, the position today of both farmers and manufacturers was so serious that, instead of fighting each other, they should work together on the common ground of their being aliko producers whose interests were largely identical.
