BAIL FOR PRISONERS
DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN
MR. MONKHOUSE'S MISSION
MOSCOW, March 25. ■Mr. Alan Monkhouse, chief Vickers engineer in Russia,' was summoned this afternoon by telephone *to appear at the Lubyanka Prison in the evening for examination by M. Vishinsky, the Soviet Public Prosecutor. When Mr. Monkhouse attempted to see M. Vishinsky to obtain bail for the arrested men he was told he must see M. Litvinoff, the Foreign Commissar, but a visit to the Foreign Office resulted in the information that M. Vishinsky alone was authorised to deal -with the matter.
