A special event, the King's Cup, a handicap with a 9.5 maximum, run over a mile and a half, was established It is run in each State in turn. Melbourne .was the scene of the first race, and each State having bow had its turn, the 1933 King's Cup will again be run at Flemington. - The date is June 5, and the prize money £1500, of which the winner takes £1000, second £300, and third £->00 On three occasions, the Cup has been won by a New Zealand-bred horse.
