MERCANTILE LEAGUE.

The following are the results of the Mercantile League matches* played on Saturday:— C Grade. Labour Department, 254 for five wickets, declared (Hoffmeister 100 not out, Warring 49, Bramwell 27, Osborne 25). Bowling for Taxes, Paton took three for 80. Taxes, 126 for eight wickets (Robertson 25, Casey 23, Paton 16, Wilson 12). Bowling for the Labour Department, Bramwell secured two for 27 and Hoffmeister five for 37.

The annual fixture between the management committee (captained by G. Mann) and the Umpires' Association, captained by P. Laurenson, was played at Wakefield Park on Saturday and resulted-in a win for the committee. The committee made 220 (Hassell 50 retired, Mann 45, S. Martin 25). The Umpires' Association made ISO (Key 44; Preston 40, and King 31).
