RURAL TELEPHONE LINES
"This meeting considers the time has arrived when a substantial cut should be made in the telephone- rentals of all rural lines, and wishes to point out that the majority of settlers will have to dispense with what is a necessity. This will mean a substantial loss to the Department and a great inconvenience to those most vitally interested." This was. the text of a resolution passed by a meeting held at Alfredton under the auspices of the Farmers' Union (reports "The Post's" Masterton correspondent). It was one of the largest meetings held in Alfredton, for soma time.
