OKARITO DREDGING RETURN.

For four weeks from January 1 to January 25 the Okarito Five-mile Dredging Company reports that the total gold won was 181oz lOdwt, the total time worked was'37l hours, and the total non-working time was 69 -hours. (Dredging was resumed after the holidays on Friday, January 6.) The total yardage treated^ was 23,500, an average of 63' cubic yards per hour. The average- value of the ground (on the basis of gold being worth £4 per ounce) was 7%d per cubic yard.
