EASTBOURNE CLUB
The following teams have been selected to represent the Eastbourne Bowling Club against Masterton on Saturday:—Fisher Edmonds, Burgess, Rendle; Loe, Liddle, Hill, Card; De Latour, Huchinson, James, Mayer; J. Stewart, L. Golding, Longmore, Wise; Isaacs. Hornig, Pearse. Andrawß. A motion of. sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. E. W. Short, who was well known in Petone for many years, especially, as secretary of the Wellington Trotting Club, waa passed by the, Petono Borough Council last night, on the motion of the Mayor (Mr. D. McKenzie). The Mayor said that as long as.he could remember Mr. Short had been ' an important man in the borough. He played an important part in the destinies of the town. He was very popular because one could always approach him, and he never refused his valuable advico or help. "He was a good man, and I'm sure every ono of us regrets his death," said Mr. McKenzie.
