DISTRICT NURSES
OUTING FOR PATIENTS
Recently Mrs. W. Young, with her usual kindness and hospitality, again entertained those of the patients of the District Nursing Guild of St. John who were able to travel at her charming house at Heretaunga. A large omnibus took most of them, other patients, not too strong, being driven out in cars by Mrs. E. H. M. Luie, Mrs. G. Shirtcliffe, and Miss Osborn. Those in thej bus were accompanied by Sisters Bet- i tany and Shepherd. Mrs. Young entertained everyone to tea in the lounge and sun porch, where some patienta had their tea cups and palms read by the ladies present. Afterward all adjourned to the music-room overlooking the golf links, where a further entertainment of music was much enjoyed. Several members of the committee were present, and altogether there was a gathering of about sixty people. Mrs. Young was assisted. by Mrs. Alister Young and Misses Catherine Young, Mollie Peacock, Jean Ludbrook, Dorothy Davies, and Isobel Young. The committee, the nurses, and the patients are most grateful to Mrs. Young for her hospitality and to the ladies who drove the paitents, as the outing meant so much to those Who never leave their homes except for an occasion of this kind.
