MAJESTIC THEATRE. •Strango Justice," the featured picture at the Majestic Theatre this week, is a powerful human drama dealing with tho ever-Interestlug logal problem of circumstantial evidence. ' Interest is sustained at a high pitch throughout. The.principal.figure is Judson, a banker whoso manner of controlling his business is somewhat 'rreßu'?r, and the part is excellently played by Reginald Denny. At various parties (all of them lavishly portrayed) Judson meets Hose (Marian. Marsh), tho girl whoso business it is to take care of hats and coats, ltose is loved by Wally (Norman Foster) and to oblige' Rose, Judson-employs Wally. as a chauffeur.. Watly fights Judson because'of his over-attention to Rose,'and Is discharged, alio parts of Waters, Judson's partner, is played by Irving Pichiil, who is excellent In villainous roles, and Judson is persuaded to disappear, while ii charge of murder is laid against Wally. - Wally's lawyer, Kearney : (Richard Bennett) tries hard to get him acquitted, but the unfortunate boy is sentenced ,to death. The climax Is thrilling. Wally, is on his way to the death-chair while Judson is being hurried to the prison to save llim'v. The acting of Denny, Marian Marsh, andPichel is outstanding, and Nydia Wcstinan gives a fine humorous characterisation, i The supports"lnclude an excellent comedy, "Shampoo the Magician," a cartoon, "Tho Last Dance," an excellent shooting feature, "Bob Whlte,"~a- Pathe -newsreel, and an Australian newsree} in which: views of Wellington are shown.
