WORK ON SHIPS

The rates of pay, terms, and conditions of employment for shipwrights and boatbuilders were again under discussion at a sitting of a Conciliation Counpil to-day and, after discussion, the inoeitng was adjourned in order that proposals put forward by the employers could bo considered by tho union and a reply given within thirty days.

The appellants are the Union Steam Ship Company, Ltd., the Wellington Patent Slip Company, Ltd., and S. Wood and Son, Ltd., the respondents being tho Wellington Shipwrights' ana Bo at builders' Uiiiou.
