RAGWORT MENAGE
PORIRUA AND TAWA FLAT]
A letter drawing the .council's attention to the prevalence^of ragwort in parts of Porirua and Tawa Flat, was received at to-day's meeting of the Makara County Council. The writer of the letter stated that he had had considerable experience of ragwort, blackberry, and other noxious weeds, but he thought ragwort was the worst. The weed was now in flower, and very soon the seeds would be scattered around the countryside.
Councillor S. G. Mexted said that ragwort had been in the two districts men* tioned for a long time. Councillor "W. Horrobin. said it was * very serious matter. Every year he noticed the weed spreading. The chairman (Mr. E. Windley) said he thought it was worse two years ago than now.
It was'decided to thank the writer o« the letter for drawing the council's attention to the matter, and to point out that it was being attended to.
