"CRIPPLING OF BUSINESS",

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") DUNEDIN, 9th'February. The Otago Motor Club has dispatched the- following telegram to the South Island. Motor Union and to Mr. A. E. Ansell, M.P.:—-"We strongly protest against the further imposition of 3d a gallon on petrol, especially when this amount of class taxation is to be appropriated by the Consolidated Fund. A large proportion of the present day traffic is purely, for business, and the result of further taxation will be simply the crippling of business interests beyond reason."
