AUTUMN CANDIDATES
BOOKED FOR MELBOURNE
(From "Vedette.") SYDNEY, 2nd February. Sydney racing - has returned to the humdrum after the-holiday round at Randwick, and although, there will be a break again at Rahdwick for ..City Tatt _ Meeting,on 18th March, the Melbourne Autumn,' Meetings will claim piefercncc in interest and importance for the next two months. A., representative team commences to leave for the south this week, including J. T. Jamieson with Closing Time, Limarch, Panjandrum, Jonker, and Miramond. Closing Time's missions will be tho big sprint events, the OakleigliPlate and Newmarket Handicap. Miramond, a very promising Limond—Mirabelle two-year-old. colt, should certainly bo placed to advantage, and Panjandrum and Jonker are a likely pair too. G. Trice will have a select team comprised of Kia vera, Shakuni,-and Waikare, who, leave this week. Carry On and Maltdale will join them later after racin. at Rosehill on Saturday. Cany On, who has one Australian Cup to her credit and always races well in Victoria, has never looked better. . Chatham is a certain traveller. Captivation, who will, oppose Closing Time in the sprints, will be accompanied by the good staying three-year-old Braeburn, and others who are booked are, Winooka, Trevallion, Pretzel, and Maybe. There is still some doubt about Peter Pan.- F. McGrath has not hurried the chestnut, and at present it looks as 'if the Melbourne Cup winner will not be at his best until the Easter Meeting in Sydney.
