LIST-OF JUBILEE-GIFTS

The following is a list of the gifts received by, the Wellington Girls' College in connection with its jubilee:— Two Medici prints, from His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe. Endowment fund' of' £100 for Scripture prizes in the school, from Miss 'McLean, tho ex-principal. Iron gate, presented by Miss Greig, principal. Double iron gates and bronze sorvice tablet, in- honour of the principals of tho school, presented by the Old Girls of the School. Chiming clock,* presented by the Wellington East College. Specially printed greetings from Tewkesbury High School, Gloucestershire. . The' standards representing the school crest, to be carried in the procession, presented ■ by, Misß A. Holm. Two memorial gifts, for Old Girls of tho School, presented by the late Miss Pat Shannon. TEEES PLANTED. The last ceremony in connection with the jubilee of Wellington Girls' Collego, the pJantiug of the commemoration pohutukawa trees, took place yesterday morning, 'after having been postponed from last Friday. The trees were planted by Mrs. G. W. Forbes, Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop, Miss McLean (exprincipal of the college); 'Miss Greig (principal), Mr. G. Mitchell (chairman of the Board of Governors), and Mrs. Ernest Dawson (president of the Old Girls' Association). An -address on trees and their significance in school life was given by Miss Greig, who expressed the hope that the trees would be a living memorial of the jubilee festivities. The pupils of t^e college gave three cheers as each tree was declared planted. Later,, the' principal entertained the visitors and members of the jubilee executive at a dainty- tea arranged by Miss Cornish. ■'
