MOTOR UNION
RESOLUTIONS CARRIED
A more stringent enforcement of the off-side rule was advocated by a Wellington remit which was adopted by the North Island Motor Union yesterday afternoon. It was decided to make representations to the authorities on the subject.Besolutions were carried expressing gravo approliension at any suggestion that there should be further diversion of motor taxation from the main highways funds; and urging that, in view of tho serious deterioration of the main highways system and tho lag in necessary bridge construction, the whole of tho- motor taxation should'be available for maintenance and to restore the loss already suffered. It was also recommended that any surplus should be made available for the completion of those links in the arterial highways system which were economically sound and justified. A proposal^ to classify and inspect motor earnps was referred to the executive for consideration of the necessary details.
