The "Shipping Worla," in pointing out that as a result of our being off the gold standard the Treasury will receive an additional million interest on Britain's shares in the Suez Canal, suggests that the Government should utilise this to assist shipowners, either by financing a scheme for scrapping obsolete steamers or helping British tonnage in competition with foreign State-aided vessels. , ,• •
