NEW AMBULANCE BUILDING
Steady progress is being made with the J erection 01 the new Free Ambulance./ building in Jervois quay, according to*! report submitted by the. chairman of thfc.; Building Committee (Mr. G. Mitchell) ~i&? to-day's meetiug of .the board. Mr. Mitef chell said that the building would • b# completed by the end/of February, ;ah(s the opening ceremony would take placij1; early in March. Owing to the inability;• of the. Governor-General to be present tgi perform the opening ceremony, Mr.' Mitchell moved that the chairman of the board, Mr.-G. J. B. Norwood, be given the honour, and the motion was carried with acclamation. .Several .members' pointed out that it was through Mr. Nor-' wood's efforts that the Free Ambulance was founded, and said it.was appropriate! that he should open the new. building.'
