AUCKLAND, 17th January. The notable business career, almost unique in length and distinction, of Mr. E. W. Knox, chairman of the Colonial Sugar Kefining Company, who has just retired from the position of managing director after 68 years' association with the company, was recognised at a large meeting of the New Zealand shareholders convened by two local directors, Mr. H. Horton and Mr. J. Newell. Tributes were paid to- Mr. Knox, and a congratulatory resolution, was passed.
