SYDNEY, 16th January.

At the Sydney wool sales to-day, 10,210 bales .were offered, of which 9924 were sold by auction, and 882 were disposed of privately. There was very keen and \Videspread competition for all descriptions. Merinos were fully equal to the closing rates last week. Fine crossbreds were 5 per cent, higher. Greasy merino sold to 24% d. .
