TWO MEN ARRESTED

(By Telegraph.—Presa Association.) MASTERTON, 15th January. • Two men wcro arrested and another was moro or Jess seriously injured on the head as the result .of an altercation between a ""number of free labourers ana striking slaughtermen outside a Carterton hotel yesterday-afternoon. It appears that tho1 argument developed "between the two factions in the bar ,of the hotel, and the participants adjourned to the street to settle the dispute.- Blows were freely exchanged, and. a. Maori free labourer was hit on the head, receiving injuries that will keep him away from work for several days. The police were soon on the scene and arrested a free labourer and a striker.
