' The International Aeronautical 'Federation 's gold medal, of which Mr. Bert Hinkler, was the former winner, has been awarded for 1932 to Senor de la Ciorva for helicopter developments. Senor J. de la Cierva originated the gyroplane, which grew into the autogyro between 1919 and 1924. Since then he has been working on improvel ments in the design. '
