NEW YOEK BANKERS
TO SUPPORT STERLING

NEW YORK, £3rd November. The New York "Evening Post" said on Wednesday that, according to persistent reports in the financial district, New York banking interests headed by J. P. Morgan and Company had assured private London bankers that a substantial credit would be advanced to the support of sterling if needed, as the result of payments by the British Treasury of 95 million dollars of war debts due to the United States on loth December.
