The funeral took place yesterday ofi Mrs. Mary Madden, widow of tlie lafe' Mr. Thomas Madden- and mother . of• Molly, John, Edmund, and Gwyn Madden, ' and sister of Mrs. C. Jago, > E.; Whyte, and Mr. J. Carrigan. Requiem" Mass was celebrated at St. 'Joseph's' Church, Buckle street, by the Rev; Father Fletcher, there being in the Sanctuary His Grace Archbishop.l O'Shea, the Rev. Fathers Heavey,i (Parish), Dowling (S.P.C. Silverstreain),! Cullen (S.P.C, Cambridge Terrace), and Nolan (Kilbirnie). The pall-bearers' were Messrs. J. and T. J. Brennan, 'E. Fitzgerald, F. J. O'Driscoll, D. Manning, and H. Cuming. The high esteem in which the late Mrs. Ma3den was held was evidenced by the large cortege^ which proceeded to the graveside, and. by expressions of sympathy received from the following:—Dr. and Mrs McEveTly, Mr. W. A lecture will be delivered at Victoria University College at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 30th November, by Professor P. P. Wilson, to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The .Italian Consul (Signor G. Formichella) will be present. The lecture will be delivered by courtesy of the Victoria College Council. .■"■•.
