" Gabled1 advices received, from other than Press'sources'relating to the opening of thei'sales, all-under date London, 22nd November, are given hereunder: — l' CROSSBRED POSITION. • The Bank ofJSew Zealand, Produce Department.— "The! sales have opened with moderate competition and a large attendance of buyers. Compared with the close of.last series, prices for merino and fine crossbred "are . unchanged. Medium and coarse crossbred? are about %'d per lb lower"." • •■■■■■•.■ - ' • -■.-■■■ ■ LARGER ATTENDANCE. •'.Messrs. 'Wright, Steplienso'n, .and Co., Ltd., and" Abraham' and Williams, Ltd. — ''November ■wool sales opened to'a larger attendance of.;.buyers than usual. The selection of wool was good, a small proportion of New Zealand wools being included in the opening catalogues. Competition was animated, Continental buyers being the chief operators. They quole:— Greasy half bred, ■ 50-56's, yielding 67 per cent., 9%d; greasy three-quarterbred,; 48----50's, yielding 74 per cent-., 7 J/4d;'greasy fine crossbred;; 46-48's,yielding ,75 per cent., 6d; greasy medium crossbred, 44-46's, yielding 76 per cent., 5%d. Sliped prices, par to 5. per cent.: lower. Australian merino prices, par \to 5 per. cent. : lower." ' HALFBREDS VERY FIRM.; : Messrs. Levin and. Co., Ltd.—^"The 'auctions dpened 'her.c ■ to-day; with: a large attendance' of Home and Continental buyers. -There" is. keen competition.. Compared with the • closing rates of last series,- the market is unchanged generally, but values of medium and coarse crossbreds, both greasy and slipe,- are barely maintained. For pure • halfbreds and slipe halfbred lambs the market is very' firm." , N REPRESENTATIVE OFFERING. ■ New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. —"Wool sales: There was a good attendance at the opening of the .sales to-day, competition by Home and Continental buyers being active, and prices as compare 1 with the close of preceding series ruled about the same for merino wool and fine greasy crossbred, and %d to %d per lb lower for medium and coarse crossbred. The openr ing catalogues were representative." A GOOD TONE. Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd.— "Sales have opened with a good tone; competition good. Continental buyers principal operators. Compared with last London sale's closing rates greasy merino, best descriptions, the market shows no. material change; wool suitable for the Continental market shows no material change; wool suitable for Yorkshire, par to 5 per cent, decline; greasy merino inferior, par to 5 per cent decline; scoured merino has declined 5 per cent.; crossbred, greasy fine, par to 5 per cent, advance; crossbred greasy medium and coarse de-' clined 5 per cent.; slipe fine crossbred advanced a shade; slipe,. other descriptions, declined 5 per cent. The crossbred scoured market shows no material change." The New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Distributing Company, Ltd.—"Wool sales opened to-day and prices compared with last London series merinos are unchanged; fine crossbreds are par to 5 per cent.' up; medium and coarse crossbreds par to 5 per cent, down; slipes,..fine 5 per cent, iip; slipes, medium and coarse, par to 5 per cent, down! Keen competition from all sections of the trade." •

October series merinos and fine crossbreds ■unchanged; greasy . merinos .(inferior): change if any in favour of buyers;.medium and coarse-crossbreds, par to rather lower; fine slipes, very firm; slipe, other descriptions, rather easier."
