The application of Mr. John Strand for the lease of an acre and a half of the board's land at Taita tor the purpose of erecting a sawmill was approved by the Hutt Kiver Board last, evening, subject to stringent provisions being inserted in the lease that sawdust should not be allowed to become a nuisance. The rental was fixed at £10 per acre.
To-morrow, at 1.30 p.m., Messrs. H. irnest Leighton, Ltd., will sell by public auction on the ground the furnished contents of 328, Oriental parade. Details are advertised.
