RIFLE SHOOTING
UPPER HUTT CLUB
The Upper Hiitt. Defence Rifle Club continued the first short-range series at Trentham on Saturday. Shooting conditions were again bad, owing to the dull light and strong rear wind. However, under these conditions some very good scores were registered. The best at 300 yards were: B. Duncan 44, H. Whiteman and J. Bronte 42. At 500 yards: B. Duncan 47 and' A. Scott 46. With an aggregate score of 92, J. Bronte secured a legin for a trophy. Scores:—
D. Purvis, 41, 39, 4—84; A. Scott, 32, 46, 5—83; T. Whiteraan,' 40, 38, 5—83. Next Saturday the club will fire the final shoot of the first series.
