, 'Of"'special interest to ;,the many people who wish for the".success of "Happiness Week" and the ff Queens" who . have been selected in-the contest which is part of the week's plans, will be the • : entertainment presented by Miss • Kathleen o'Brien at the Town Hall, on* Saturday afternoon and evening. The five candidates for the con- s test will be presented to' the public, for the first-time,, in tho presence of Their Excellencies the G;overnor-General and the Lady; Bledisloe,.as well 'as' the Mayor and Mayoress. Miss O'Brien: has planned a delightful "dance extravaganza", in which her adult, intermediate, and very young students will take part. There will bo Spanish, .Grecian, and Eastern ballets and scenes, as well as operatic numbers, all being beautifully presented in costumes designed>by Miss O'Brien, in scenery arranged to give the most charming effects possible. It should bo a "feast of colour-"-which should satisfy the most artistic minds, and tho music will be an added pleasure. .For .tte special enjoyment of the small ones there, will be fairy items and stories enacted, with plenty of fun attached. Miss Marjorie Bennie and Mr. T. R. Jenkins will take the song solos in two of the scenes. "Father Christmas" is to appear in a gaily decorated sleigh," and 'many characters of the old nursery plays and rhymes will be represented. In all, tho performance promises to be of outstanding interest and beauty.
