ROSE GARDEN AT ITS BEST
The rose garden at the Botanical Gardens is just now at its best, and is well worth a visit for the sake of the show and fo.r the "tips" to be picked up by amateur gardeners intending to add to their homo selections. This year there are not so many new roses as in past seasons, but there is a wonderful variety notwithstanding. A bed Of about a hundred "Shot Silk" makes a gorgeous display, and another of "Desmond Johnson" is outstanding. Clumps of a remarkable Tibctian poppy, Meconopsis Bnileyi, have attracted much attention, and bods of stocks and flowering shrubs, are making- a fine show. ■ •.'""" ~'
