JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVES
Arrangements are- being completed for the Wellington junior representatives (under 21 years of age) to visit Auckland and Waikato during the Christmas-New Year holidays.; Two-day matches trill be played with the.Auckland junioi- representatives, the Auckland Subnrban Association representatives, and the Waikato representatives (Hawke Cup holders1'). Two^seasons ago the Wellington boys had a very interesting series of matches on this northern tour. Against the suburban team in Auckland, Wellington's score looked like being exceeded with wickets to spare, but Ashenden and Stephenson came to light with fine bowling performances, and six wickets fell for about 20 runs after two wickets had produced over 170 runs. Finally Wellington had 11 runs to . Spare. Against Waikato tho Wellington team, after losing two wickets | for tit) runs (in eleven overs), made 106. Waikato followed up with about 100 for six wickets, i\iid before tho last man appeared they added four more- runs. A great catch by Xi. j» Brabin behind tho sticks accounted for the last wicket falling withOutany further addition to the score. The 'keeper had stepped acrosls in an endeavour to stop, a possible boundary hit, and the ball stuck fast in his outstretched hand.
Tho Wellington team for this season's northern tolir is to leave on Christmas Eve.
