LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

One hundred, and forty members .attended the final meeting-for the year of, the Hataitai branch- of the League of Mothers. Mrs. Aulin, who presided, was presented with a posy of flowers. Mrs. Searle and Mrs. Jackson had arranged : a delightful programme, duets, piano solos,'.,songs, aud elocutionary items being given by Mcsdames Chapman and Tonks, Misses Chapman, Highet, Myers, and Monica Williams. A splendid .singing of a glee by the Mothers' Choir reflected much credit on Mrs. Caldwell, the conductor. A competition was won by Miss Chapman, and community singing followed. A large Christmas cake was presented by Mrs. MeEae and cut by one of the oldest members of the branch, and was later distributed at tea. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered to Mrs. McEae for her splendid, work;during the year and thanks were also voted to the secretary, to Mrs. Aulin, to all performers and to all members who had contributed to such a successful afternoon.
