Eminent (J. K. Eobertsoh) and Clangor (J. D. Martip) Tan half a mile in 51 4-5 sec, but Eminerifs time was better than this as he started a couple or more.lengths behind his mate. Aroma (Wilson) slipped over half a mile comfortably in 51 l-ssec.

No rider Has yet been engaged for Joie de Val in the Cup,, which will probably be the race in ■which she is started. G. Humphries has been announced as her rider, "but he will not be at the meeting. L. J. Ellis was reported earlier from the South as likely to be at the meeting, but it is understood that he has gone to Winton-instead. Maypay will; now, be ridden in the Novice Stakes, by K.
