Dunedin was described .as "the Edinburgh of New Zealand and the centre of learning" by an Otago delegate at yesterday's National Conference of School Committees. This remark, made when the closing of training colleges was being discussed, was not allowed to pass without good-natured challenge .from, delegates from other centres.
