DISPUTE IN LANCASHIRE

NEGOTIATIONS OPENED

(British Official Wireless.) KTJGBY, 13th October. Negotiations for settlement of'the Lancashire spinning mills dispute oa wages and hours were opened at Manchester to-day under the presidency of Mr. I\ \V. Leggett, the Labour Ministry official who recently effected a settlement in tho Weaving industry. An agreement was reached to defer^ the notices which had been due to expire next week, and it was decided that negotiating committees of both sides should meet under Mr. Leggett's chairmanship. The first of such meetings was held this -afternoon. ' '
