INQUIRY BY "ANGLICAN SYNOD

- . > 'DUNEDIN, This Day. At the Anglican Synod" last night the Rev. Andrews-Baxter, of- Southland, moved that Synod appoint a commission to 'inquire* into tho welfare of youths in view of the exaggerated pleasure, drinking, and impurity of a largo number of young people to-day. Ha stated that drinking and sometimes worse went on in many dance, halls, and when people made bridge and golf their gods it was no wonder young peoplo fell short in tho beginning of their lives.

Tlie motion was amended to provide for tho appointment of a commission to inquire into youth welfare, several speakers stating that they would not stigmatise youth in the 'terms of the original motion.
