' Advices dated London 13th October have been received as follows:— Bapk of-New Zealand.—"The sales have closed with good inquiry from all branches of the trade. Compared with the opening of this series prices. for practically all descriptions are.a.little easier.! Current quotations: Merinos, super 60-64's 10% dto 12d per lb, ordinary" B%d to 9d, inferior 7d to -7%d; half-breds, 56's lO^d to ll%d, 50-56's B%d to 9%d; crossbreds, 50's 7d to Bd, 48-50's 6Wd to 7d, 46-48's 6d to 6%d, 44-46's 5%d to 6d, 40-44's 5d to 5%d, 36-40's 5d to s'/£d."
■ Loan ' and Mercantile Co.—"The sales closed firmly to-day. There is good all round competition. As compared with last sales closing rates prices are higher %d per lb for merino and crossbred lambs, medium: and coarse greasy crossbred, and medium and coarse scoured crossbred; prices . are higher %d to Id per lb for greasy merino, and coarse and medium crossbred slipe; prices are higher Id to l%d per lb for scoured merino, fine scoured crossbred :and fine crossbred slipe, also Id per lb higher for fine greasy crossbred." Wright,.Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd. —"London wool sales closed on an active market. Competition ..was animated between an average attendance of buyers, of whom the chief operators. were acting for Bradford and the Continent. American buyers were not operating. - There 'was a good selection of wool offering. During,the series 163,000 bales,were offered, of which 153,000 were sold. We quote, the following average realisations:—Greasy fine crossbred, 46-48's yielding 75 per cent., 6%d; greasy medium crossbred,.'44-46's yielding 76 per cent., s^d; greasy crossbred, 40-44's yielding 77 per cent., sd; greasy, coarse crossbred, 36----40's, < yielding 78 per cent., 4%d; sliped prices par to 5 per cent, easier." . Messrs.; Levin and Co., Ltd. —"The auctions closed here to-day with a good lone, but below the best point of the series. Good, general competition, especially by the Continent, for greasy crossbreds. Compared with the opening rates we. quote:— Greasy merino, best %d to %d lower, average Vid to %d; fine half-breds, 50-56's, %d to.%d; half-breds, 48-50's, %d to %d; fine crossbreds, 46-48's, %d; medium, 44-46's, Yid; coarse, 40-44's, %d; low, 36-40's, %d; slipe wools generally, aud scoured merinos, %d to %d, all lower."
Messrs. H. Irwell and Co.—"Market is firm and. active. As compared with opening prices of the sale values are 5 per cent, lower for crossbreds" in general. The following are the ruling quotations:—sß's 9%d, 56's 9%d, 50's 7d, 48's 6Vsd, 46's 6d, 44's 5Hd." '
