LONDON, 13th October.
The offering at the wool sales today was 6278 bales, including 1564 New Zealand. About 4647 were sold.
It was a miscellaneous offering, and met with a good general demand. Late rates were. maintained. • Realisations included: —New Zealand, greasy merino, "Glynnwye,"highest 9d, average B%d; half-bred lambs, slipe, highest liy 2 d, average 9%d. .The series has closed-firm. Prices compared with July closing rates were:— Merinos, greasy 10 per cent, higher, scoured 5 to 10 per cent.;'-short pieces 10 to 15 percent., ■ crossbreds, fine 5 per-cent. medium ito/cparse 7% per cent, to 10 per cent., shpes 10 to 15; per cent. •The total catalogued..was 178,733 bales. Sold to Home trade, 71,000 bales; to Continent, .82,000;' held, oVer, * 54,000. • Total .Australian' sold were 88,000 bales, New Zealand; 65,500.
