HEALTH CAMP AT OTAKI
A meeting in connection with the children's health camp at Otaki was held on Wednesday night. Dr. Ada Paterson explained that the object of the meeting was to elect a local committee to work iv, conjunction with the Wellington committee and arrange for the supply of vegetables, entertainments, transport of children, and other assistance.
The following committee was elected:— Mesdames Milne, Allan, McGill, Nicolson, and Savel, members of the medical profession, the Rev. Moir, Ayrton, and Riordan, Messrs. Richards, D. W. Allen, Rule, Smyth, Bailey, Chatwin, Cockrcll, McGill, Nicolson, Lowry, Banks, Derapsey, Palhsev, G. Freeman, Tahiwi, and Davie's. Air. Davies was appointed • secretary and treasurer. The Mayor (Mr. Almore) will act as chairman, and Mr. Tahiwi as transport officer.
A contribution of £50 is to be-made by tho City Council to the Lower Hutt Borough when the scheme prepared by tho City Engineer for preventing obstruction at tho Awamutu stream, has been satisfactorily completed.
