MULLABODEN'S PROGRESS

Although Mr. W. A. Fuller's Irish-bred three-year-old colt Mullaboden, by Phalaris's son, Torlonia, from the Bushey Park mare Templebbden, is engaged to do his nrst racing at the Marlborough Meeting, it is by no means certain that he will be on hand, and the only prospect of his going out to the starter seems to lie in the chance that the tracks might be softened by heavy rain between now and race day. Mullaboden has developed into a stocky, muscular individual, and he is in fit health generally, but he has worked lamely ever since he was first speeded up by his trainer, H. Pritchard, and he has as yet shown little sign of throwing off the lameness. A^ a result there has never been anything impressive about his work, as he is afraid to get really into his job. He was recently accepted at the Wellington Meeting, but the hard track prevented his being started.
