A few late strawberries are still finding their way to the1 Auckland city markets, although the season proper ended about the middle of last month, states the "New Zealand Herald." The berries, which are small, brought only 9d to Is a chip at the markets on Tuesday, the retail price being about Is to Is 3d. The season fiuished earlier than usual this year on account of the dry and hot Christmas and January weather. The growers' average returns were slightly lower than those last year.
